as "possibly our most nervous contestant" -- and anybody who saw him last week won't disagree. Alex says he has such bad stage fright that he gets physically sick before performing, often throwing up before his high school football games.
Alex, we learn, invented his own language when he was in sixth grade, and he uses it when he's crafting melodies while writing songs.

Randy says he has his own language, too. He think Alex made a huge improvement from last week and says he found his own niche with the song.
Ellen says watching Alex this week was like putting an unripe banana in a paper bag overnight. "You don't have the experience, that's the only thing -- but you're gaining so much experience, so quickly." She says he has the most unique style of anyone she's seen here.
Kara tells Alex that everyone is rooting for him, and that he's got a great recording voice that he doesn't know what to do with. But she thinks he's figuring it out.
"Alex, that was a million times better than last week," Simon says. His only issue is that he doesn't think Alex has the instinct to win. "I wish I was choosing your songs for you right now," because once he connects with the song, he'll be a different person.
